I have been reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. My husband and I are planning a family. My cousin, a mom herself, sent me this book along with a voodoo doll. We’re hoping one of them works!

Back to the book, it basically gives detailed methods of tracking your own fertility to the point where you know when you should “do it” or avoid it. This depends on your goal of becoming pregnant or not. It definitely requires a commitment, really on the woman’s part to track certain things for it to be successful. Daily temperature is one of these things, the others may be TMI. You can read all the great reviews on Amazon and a few go into detail about the other factors.

The reason I really like this book and this method of fertility tracking is that it’s all natural- if you’re trying to have a baby, you could learn that you were off on your cycle and avoid taking fertility drugs. On the other hand, if you’re trying to prevent pregnancy, this could be an alternative to chemical birth control. In addition to cutting down on the production of the pills and saving money, I could do without daily doses or crazier hormones than usual. I’ve never been a big fan of controlling my womanly parts with drugs. Once I read it, I wondered how I had never known of this method. I think it’s a great resource for all women to learn a little more about themselves.

Happy Reading and More………
