Budget Inspired Decor
With no job funds are a limited so I’ve been coming up with creative, inexpensive ways to spruce up our house.
You can use any fabric with a pattern that you like to make wall hangings like these. It’s a good way to reuse fabric you might have around. These are made with a shower curtain. I used some canvases that I had and simply stretched the fabric over them and stapled them to the back with a staple gun.
Canvases are available at Michael’s, Aaron Brothers or an art store. There is always a 40% off one item coupon in our Sunday paper. I also found them online at the My Craft Coupons blog. Or, if you’re the handy type, Empty Easel has instructions for making your own frame for the fabric.
If you want to take it a step further, Design Sponge has a crafty way to use framed artwork which can be adapted to one of these frames or with artwork you already have. I love love this idea and plan on doing it myself soon. My jewelery is currently tangled in a box. I’ll let you know how it goes.
